Bringing Leah Home

On Monday, May 3rd (Uncle Matt's birthday), we brought Leah home. Both her doctor and Mama's doctor gave them the thumbs up to head home. We were a little worried that Mama's doctor wasn't going to let her go, because she had to go to the OR after Leah was born... but no major problems, so we were allowed to check out around 10am.

Leah, during her discharge checkout. She weighed 7 lbs, 14 ozs, so she lost a half a pound in the hospital.
Daddy got Leah dressed and held her while we waited for Mama's doctor. Her outfit is actually from two and a half years ago - it was Cam's going home outfit if he ended up being a girl! We had bought one of each gender outfit with us to the hospital for Cam's birth, and just saved the girl outfit for when/if we had a girl. It worked out well that Leah could use it!

Mama and Leah are wheeled out of the hospital by nurse Noreen, who is the same nurse who wheeled out Mama and Cam when we went home! We thought that was a fun coincidence.

Later that day, Leah had some tummy time on her play mat. She didn't mind it at first.

Then she got MAD!
Cameron came home mid-afternoon and was excited to have his sister at home. He wanted to hold her right away.

And a sweet kiss
Cameron wanted to do some tummy time with Leah, so he got right under her play mat with her
He wanted to show her all of the toys that hang down. She was not very interested in anything but sleeping on her mat. So much for tummy time!
Since it was Uncle Matt's birthday, everyone came over for dinner. Nana brought everything for dinner and cooked it up for us. We had a nice little party and it was great to be able to celebrate with everyone.

Cameron was Uncle Matt's helper for opening presents and cards. He snuggled right in and helped Uncle Matt open everything.
