Leah's Due Date

Today is Leah's due date! Instead of waiting anxiously for my baby to arrive though, I have a sweet 10 day old baby. In celebration, here are tons of pictures and other stuff about Leah's first ten days.

Last Wednesday, we had two sets of visitors. The first was the home visit nurse from the Birth Place. It was Nancy, who was one of our nurses when Cameron was born. She checked out both Leah and I and said we were doing great. It was nice to have her here though to get reassurance that everything was going okay.

Later that afternoon, Jaime, Bridgette and Abby came to visit. Poor Jeff had to stay home and work, but we were very glad to have 3/4s of the Lange family here for a visit!

I don't remember what Leah was doing in this picture series, but they sure are cute!
Bridgette holding Leah. She did a great job and held her several times.

Sweet little smush-face baby
Abby wanted a turn holding Leah too.
And then Cameron wanted to hold his sister too.

Leah's first checkup was on Thursday. We had a little bit of a problem getting out of the house in the morning (getting two kids ready is hard!) so Cameron ended up coming to the doctor with us. He was really good and was very concerned about what was going on with his sister.

As we walked into the room, he asked the nurse, "What you going to do to baby?" The nurse replied, "We are just going to check her out and see how big she is." Cam looked up at her, held his hands about a foot and half apart and said, "Her this big!" It was adorable and the nurse nearly fell over with the cuteness. Once we were in the room, we heard her telling everyone out in the hall about it. What a smart kiddo! The doctor also praised Cameron for how well he spoke and what smart questions he asked (what is the stethoscope for, what is he looking in her ears for, etc), so we were extra proud that visit!

Leah was pronounced in excellent health. She weighed 7 lbs, 13 ozs, so she lost another ounce since the hospital. The doctor was not concerned at all, but we have a weight check this week to make sure she is headed in the right direction.

On Friday, May 7 (Tim and my 5th anniversary!!), we had a fun family night. Cameron came home from school earlier than usual and we had a really good afternoon. He spent some time reading to Leah.
The book he is reading is a puzzle book, where the pieces come out, so he was showing her what each piece was and explaining it. Here he is showing her an apple and telling her that when she gets teeth, she can eat them. It was really sweet.
After dinner we had a movie night. We watched the movie Cars. We got lots of good snuggling in - here is Mama and Cam cuddling up for the movie.

On Mother's Day, we woke up to snow in the yard!!! May 9th and snow? Crazy! We didn't take pictures right away, so a lot of it had melted, but here is some of the snow in our yard.
Cam and Leah - what a lucky Mama to have such sweet kiddos!
Cam and Leah playing on the play mat. Leah is having tummy time, which she doesn't usually enjoy all that much.
Today was no exception. She doesn't look too mad in this picture, but the rest of the series of photos shows a very MAD baby!
Daddy made Cameron a fort out of the play mat. Cam thought it was very cool. He played in it for a long time - it was his fort, his cave, his hiding place.
Later that day we decided to give Leah a bath. Cam was a really good helper, soaping Leah up and washing her off.
Shampoo time
Warm, clean, snuggley baby
What a cutie pie!
We had our first outing on Mother's Day (besides going to the doctor) - we went over to Nana and Poppa's house for dinner. It was very exciting.
Here is Leah with the gorgeous blanket that Mom's friend Ann made.

Monday was Daddy's first day back at work, after having the week off to take care of Mama and Leah. Leah sent him an email with some pictures so he wouldn't miss her too much!
