Last Wednesday, we had two sets of visitors. The first was the home visit nurse from the Birth Place. It was Nancy, who was one of our nurses when Cameron was born. She checked out both Leah and I and said we were doing great. It was nice to have her here though to get reassurance that everything was going okay.
Later that afternoon, Jaime, Bridgette and Abby came to visit. Poor Jeff had to stay home and work, but we were very glad to have 3/4s of the Lange family here for a visit!
I don't remember what Leah was doing in this picture series, but they sure are cute!
Leah's first checkup was on Thursday. We had a little bit of a problem getting out of the house in the morning (getting two kids ready is hard!) so Cameron ended up coming to the doctor with us. He was really good and was very concerned about what was going on with his sister.
As we walked into the room, he asked the nurse, "What you going to do to baby?" The nurse replied, "We are just going to check her out and see how big she is." Cam looked up at her, held his hands about a foot and half apart and said, "Her this big!" It was adorable and the nurse nearly fell over with the cuteness. Once we were in the room, we heard her telling everyone out in the hall about it. What a smart kiddo! The doctor also praised Cameron for how well he spoke and what smart questions he asked (what is the stethoscope for, what is he looking in her ears for, etc), so we were extra proud that visit!
Leah was pronounced in excellent health. She weighed 7 lbs, 13 ozs, so she lost another ounce since the hospital. The doctor was not concerned at all, but we have a weight check this week to make sure she is headed in the right direction.
On Friday, May 7 (Tim and my 5th anniversary!!), we had a fun family night. Cameron came home from school earlier than usual and we had a really good afternoon. He spent some time reading to Leah.
On Mother's Day, we woke up to snow in the yard!!! May 9th and snow? Crazy! We didn't take pictures right away, so a lot of it had melted, but here is some of the snow in our yard.
Monday was Daddy's first day back at work, after having the week off to take care of Mama and Leah. Leah sent him an email with some pictures so he wouldn't miss her too much!
