Florida, Day 7: Last Day :(

Our last day in Florida was Tuesday. Our flight wasn't until the evening, so we had all day to enjoy the sun, sand and pool. Cameron started out the day helping Opa squeeze oranges for fresh orange juice. They made delicious juice!

I asked him to smile for the camera and this is what I got.

We went for one last walk on the beach, down to the public beach and back. Tim was taking a picture of the rest of us and someone came and asked if we wanted our picture taken. So here is a family shot on the public beach.

Daddy and Cam - Daddy was trying to get Cam to put his toes into the ocean, but one toe in and he felt how cold it was, and that was it!

Then Daddy and Cameron swam in the pool one last time. Cam was doing so good swimming on his own!

Daddy and Cam swimming "laptops" - When Cameron saw other people swimming laps, he asked Tim what they were doing. Tim told him "Swimming Laps", which Cameron translated into "swimming laptops". He kept asking Tim to do a laptop, it was so funny and cute! Tim would swim on his back with Cameron hanging on around his neck and they would do a few laptops back and forth.

The last activity for the day was one last time playing on the beach. Cameron packed up the beach toys and down we went.

Both kids got filthy. We let them do whatever and just go nuts, and they got so much sand everywhere. They had fun though! Cameron kept asking us to dig holes and bury him in them.

After initial hesitation, Leah decided she loved the beach!

One of the holes that we dug for Cam, he requested that we put Leah in instead. She didn't seem to mind.

After making a face-down sand angel, Cam was a bit sandy.

The kids played so well together. Cam helped Leah dig and make castles. It was really sweet.

Leah loved to crawl around in the sand. She left a hilarious trail behind her since she crawls on her stomach like a little army girl.

After a face plant. It didn't really phase her though, in fact, she tried to eat the sand off her lips.

We tried to take a picture of all four of us by putting the camera on a beach chair. It didn't really work too well.

Someone nearby offered to take a picture for us. He took a bunch and they came out nice, I thought.

Florida, Day 6: More Swimming and Ice Cream

Monday was a bit of a lazy day in the morning, I don't even think we went down to the pool until 10:30 or 11. The weather was nice again, mid-60s and sunny with not too much wind. Cameron went swimming with Daddy in the morning, then we went up for lunch, then he went swimming with Opa in the afternoon.

Right before this was taken, Cam was in the pool and shouted, "I have to go potty!!!" Luckily for everyone, he made it safely to the potty.

Cameron was swimming SO well by the end of the week. Here he is swimming from the steps to Opa without any noodle or float or anything. We are so proud!!

We went out to dinner tonight, at Alpine Steakhouse. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. After dinner though, was another story! We went to Armand Circle to go to Kilwin's Ice Cream shop, which is a yearly tradition.

Into the mouth! No surprise, she loved it! We only gave her about three bites though, cause we didn't want a baby on a sugar high all night!

We also tried to give her a bite from the cone, but that was just a big mess.

Cameron got his own cup of ice cream, a flavor called Superman or something like that. It was crazy colors and tasted like rainbow sherbet. Not a surprise, he loved it too!

But he still wanted to try everyone's ice cream as well

Florida, Day 5: Sunny Day and a Beautiful Sunset

Today was back to good weather - not as warm, but the sun was shining so bright and warm. We went down to the pool before lunch and Cameron had a great time swimming in the pool and playing on the edge. He swam with Tim for about an hour and a half, even though the tempertaure was only 60, and by the end his little lips were blue and he was shivering. He did not want to get out, but eventually we made him.

The master mixologist - Cam can sit for hours by the edge of the pool playing with his beach toys. He pours water from one thing to another, makes the shovels into various things (hockey players, snowplows, spoons) and just has a great time.

In the morning, Leah was sleepy and cranky but wouldn't fall asleep. Tim did laps around the pool trying to get her to sleep. It didn't work - every time she almost fell asleep, Cameron would shout and she would wake up and look for her big brother.

Finally, late in the afternoon, Leah conked out. This was after Tim took her on two laps around the condo complex, then Omi took her on laps around the pool. Neither thing worked, so I told them just to park her for a little bit and let her sit. Sure enough, she fell asleep after about a minute. I think there was too much to look at during her walks, so she couldn't bring herself to sleep! Nosy little monkey!

After we were done swimming for the afternoon, we went down to the beach for sunset. Leah was interested in the sand but very tentative. She kept reaching out and touching it, then backing away from it. She never really did much more than fling a handful of it.

This is a cute one of Leah but not so much of Cam. It is much harder getting two kids to look and smile at the same time!

Cameron squeezed Leah while we were trying to get a picture and she was pretty outraged by it!

Cam brought his buckets down to where we were, set them up and hopped up. He was pretty proud of himself.

A family picture! We took a few of these and this one was the best. Again, its tough to get everyone looking at the camera at the same time!

A few years back, I took a picture of Tim throwing Cameron in the air, and Tim just loves it. He has been trying to recreate the picture every year since, to no avail. I think these came out pretty darn good though, I love the sillohette look.

Cam was tentative at first, but then after the first throw he was loving it.

It looks like Cam is hoping on one foot in the air!
