Omi's 80th Birthday Party

This July 7th, Omi turns 80.  The week before that, there was a great party for Omi.  It was at Aunt Susi's house and everyone helped in making food and getting ready for the party.  We didn't take too many pictures (Mom took most of them), but here are a few pictures from the party.

Someone said that Opa should give Omi a kiss, so he is going after her

He got her!

Aaron was a very good guest - he just hung out in his stroller and let pretty much anyone hold him.  What a sweetie!

Happy 80th Birthday Omi - we all love you so much!!

Photo Shoot Outtakes

Here are some funny and random pictures from the photo shoot:

Tim needed Cameron to stand in front of the backdrop to take test shots.  Cam decided to be a goalie.

More goalie shots

It looks like Aaron is thinking "what are these people doing?"

Hello Mr. Double Chin!

Do you think he's getting tired of all of the pictures?

Uh oh.... there he goes...

Good night sweet baby

Cameron has entered into the age of the forced fake smile.

Look, he can do it when he has hockey gear on too.

Leah looks like she doesn't want to be close to those gross boys

I don't think Aaron is a big fan of having Leah's head on his head

After the regular nice pictures, the kids asked to take some jumping pictures.  Of course, we always oblige  !

Leah actually got into the air this time

Cam gets really high

Holding hands

This is Aaron jumping.  It didn't really work out.

So we tried another way.  That really didn't work either.  We'll have to wait until he can actually sit or stand or jump or walk or do anything but just lay there.

Leah the hockey playing opera singer?

He looks like a drunken hockey baby

Kisses for Aaron!!

Aaron Adorable - Smiley Boy!

As we said in the one month post, Aaron has started smiling.  Here is a picture and a video of Mr. Smiley Aaron!

Not his best smile, but still pretty cute

The video of him smiling is much better!

Swamp Rat Run - Cameron's First Race

In mid-May, Cameron brought home a paper from school saying that there was going to be a race called the Swamp Rat Run in June.  It was a 5K and 10K, with a mile fun run for kids.  We asked Cam if he wanted to sign up, and after a bit of waffling he decided to give it a try.  First though, he wanted to try to make sure that he could actually run a mile.  Tim and Cameron gave it a try and Cam was able to run the mile in a bit over 11 minutes.  They spent the next few weeks practicing a couple of times in order to get ready for the run.

The Swamp Rat Run was bright and early on the morning of June 15th.  Mimi and Grandpa were here this weekend so they got to come too and watch Cam do his first race.  The race was run at Oneida Shores Park right near our house.

We wanted a picture of Cameron and Leah, but Leah was not having it!

Cam tried to get her to smile.  It didn't really work.

Going for a walk and checking out the beach put a smile on her face though!

We walked along the beach and checked out a playground while we waited for the race to start.  We had to get there an hour ahead of time to make sure that there was enough time for Cameron to get checked in and ready to race.

First the girl racers ran the mile fun run, then it was the boys' turn.  The kids could run alone or have a parent run with them, so Tim ran with Cameron.  Here they are crossing the finish line.  It is a bit hard to see them, but Tim is in the yellow shirt in the middle of the picture and you can see Cameron just a little to his left, between the men in the red and black shirts.

A big hug from a proud sister!

Cameron's after the race photo.  His official time was 9:46 for the mile.  He was the second fastest five year old in the race, so he was pretty excited and proud about that!  We were so proud of him, he did a FANTASTIC job in the race and really enjoyed himself.
