Labor Day Weekend at the Cottage

We have had such a busy summer and have been gone so often that Labor Day was the first time we go to the cottage, which is a tragedy.  Poor Aaron had to wait until he was almost four months for his first cottage visit!  We went up with Nana and Poppa and stayed at the new cottage.  Uncle Chris and family were at the old cottage.  The weather was really nice, warm and mainly sunny.

Leah trying to read to Aaron.  He doesn't seem to be enjoying it too much.

She is just too cute for words!!

Aaron with Daddy.  Aaron really enjoyed his first cottage trip.

One of the exciting things that we did this cottage visit was that Cameron and Leah learned how to fish.  They each had a fishing pole and learned to cast off the end of the dock.

Leah loved her pink fishing pole.  We were kind of surprised that she was patient enough to slowly reel the line back in, but she did a great job.

No surprise that Cameron loved it.

Fishing kiddos.

Mama and Aaron watched the fishing fun from up on the porch.

What a cutie Mr. Cameron is!

And Ms. Leah is a goof!

She loves taking silly pictures.

Leah helping to wash the dishes.

Leah and Nana being silly.  Leah was laughing like crazy at this until we tried to take her picture, then all of a sudden it was not funny anymore and she did not want her picture taken.

Aaron's first dip in Otty Lake!

Labor Day weekend means time to bring the raft in.  Here is the crew rowing it in.

Cameron got tired of paddling it in and jumped into the water to swim in to shore instead.

Leah with her new friend, Jon Thompson's little girl.  They had so much fun together!

Playing in the water.

Fishing with Bridget

Aaron hung out in the stroller while everyone was taking care of the raft.

Cameron and Patrick made up an elaborate game about earthquakes that they were playing here.

Smiley baby!!!

At the new cottage there was a family of squirrels living in this house.  You can see the baby peeking its little head out at the mama.  They were cute but noisy.

Sandpile fun with Bridget and Patrick

Cameron and Patrick went off to catch frogs.  Here is one of the frogs that Cam caught.

Not to be outdone, Mama caught a frog too.  This guy was sitting in the middle of a mucky mess but he was easy enough to grab with a net.

Mr. Frog

That's right frog, it doesn't matter how old I get, I can still catch you.

Introducing Aaron to the frog.  He was not particularly interested.

Trying to get Cameron to hold the frog.  He didn't really want any part of holding the giant frog.  I tried for a while but eventually just let the frog go.

Leah caught a fish!!!  She was so proud of herself.

We also went to the annual shore party, which was fun as always.  There were lots of cousins and other kids to play with, so the kids had a great time.  And there were lots of friends to catch up with so the adults had a great time too.

It was another great weekend at the cottage!!
