Christmas Preparation: Decorating the Tree

After letting the tree thaw out in our garage for a night, then spending an hour or two on another night bringing it into the house and getting the lights on it, we were finally ready to decorate the tree!

Cameron was ready to go long before we were ready for him to start. I think he was annoyed with all of the set up we had to do just to be ready to take a picture of him hanging the first ornament!

Mama said smile, so Cam smiled!

We were finally ready, so Cameron picked out the first ornament and put it on the tree.

Then he double checked to make sure it was hung just like he wanted. Apparently he has a bit of Nana's and Auntie Kim's tree decorating strategy (aka a perfect tree) in his blood.

Poor Leah was relegated to her jumperoo all night so she didn't eat the ornaments. She didn't seem to mind though, and really enjoyed watching everyone.

Cameron really liked hanging ornaments up high because it meant that he got to climb up the ladder. This was taking a really long time, so pretty quickly the ladder was moved out of the family room.

So proud (probably that he didn't break it)!

A good shot of the whole tree. It is TALL - close to 13 feet.

After the kiddos went to bed, Mama and Daddy finished all of the decorating.

Daddy got the job of filling up the top of the tree. It was tricky because the whole bottom was decorated so he had to climb up the ladder and lean out over the tree to put an ornament on.

Guess what? We never took a picture of the tree after we were all done. I know, we suck. So instead, you will have to wait until our Christmas posts to see a picture of the tree!
