It was cute, before we left, Cameron asked us, "So, do you think I'm going to come in first, second or third?" We had to explain to him that this race had all of the winners from all of the different packs and that there was a very good chance that he wouldn't win any trophy at all. He seemed surprised, as though he hadn't considered that at all. He didn't get upset though and was excited to see how his car did.
The competition - I think there were around 25 cars this time.

The track that they used was a bit more sophisticated than the one Cameron's pack used! It had electronic timing that timed each lane to the hundredth of a second and then displayed what place each lane was in. It was connected to a laptop that kept all of the scores and figured out what overall place all of the cars came in.

Overall, Cam did pretty well. He got first or second place in each of the six races he was in. Unfortunately, his times were not good enough for him to be in first, second or third, but he was really happy with how well he did. He was excited to get to the in the finals and wasn't disappointed at all that he didn't get a trophy. He is really looking forward to next year's race already!
