One more hug for Christoph. The kids really loved playing with him!
We drove about an hour to Andorf. On the way there, the road we were driving on (the only real way to get to Andorf) suddenly was closed because it was under construction. There was no detour sign, so we just turned and started driving on a bunch of back farm roads. Some were so small that they were barely one lane wide, winding through farm fields. Luckily we had a navigation system in our car so we could tell that we were headed somewhat in the right direction, but it was a pain. Finally we headed back towards the road that we had originally been on and found that there were still cones up but not on the entire road. There were no signs, no construction vehicles, nothing. We weren't sure what to do so we sat there for a minute and finally another car came by, driving on what we thought was the closed road. We decided to follow suit and continued on the "closed" road to get to Andorf.
We stopped in Andorf to see Hansi and Traudi. Walter wasn't around because he had gone to see Astrid and her newborn baby. We stayed at Hansi and Traudi's for about an hour, hanging out and talking. Traudi made the kids a nice snack of brotchen with her home made jam - both of them kept saying "I'm hungry" so that they could get more.

Here is what Cameron was doing - pouting by the car. He wouldn't get in any pictures.
We left Hansi and Traudi's a bit before lunch time and headed towards Germany. Our next stop was in Eging to see Tanja, Bernd and Jan. This was my sad attempt at a picture of the Germany sign.
We arrived at Tanja's house when Jan was still taking a nap. The kids played quietly until Jan woke up, and then were very excited to meet and play with him. In fact, they were just excited to be at Tanja's in general because of all of the TOYS they had!
When Jan woke up, he came in to the living room surprised to find strangers playing with his toys. That didn't last for long though - he was quickly happy to start playing with the kids.
Jan is 2 months older than Leah, so they especially got along well. It was hilarious listening to them talk to each other, each in their own language. They had a conversation going on back and forth, each talking about whatever they wanted to but taking turns like you would. It was so cute and funny.
After lunch we decided to go outside and play. Here is Leah and Bernd walking down the steps to their front yard.
Luckily, Jan had lots of options for ride-on toys, so everyone could take turns on all of his vehicles. Leah's favorite was the tricycle; she was excited that she could reach the pedals (she can't quite reach hers at home).

Cameron on Jan's no pedals bike. He was a bit shaky on it, but Jan was a real pro cause he is used to the balance. It is a really cool bike.

The house around the corner from their house has three horses. The kids thought it was great to be able to get so close to them.

The road had a long gentle slope to it, perfect for riding down on a little car. Jan was a pro at it!
Cam gave it a try too and thought it was pretty awesome!

When we were done looking at the horses and riding cars down the hill, we headed back to Tanja's house. We went into the backyard where there was a slide, a sandbox, and bubbles!

We had a great day seeing lots of family. After we left Tanja's house, we drove to Aura where we would be staying with Barbara and Friedbert for the rest of our trip.

Kristin and Tanja should have taken a picture in matching pajamas just like the old days!
What a wonderful day of visiting with relatives for all of you! It must have been fun to hear Leah and Jan "talking" - just like you kids did with Tanja, Christian, and Michella the first time you went to Germany.
We did talk about that our picture wasn't in matching pajamas. We thought our coats matched pretty well though, so it is just our updated version of matching clothes!
