Ryan and Lucy's Wedding

Ryan and Lucy's wedding was on Saturday afternoon, held at Izaty's Resort on Mille Lac.  It was a beautiful day, sunny and blue skies.  The only problem was it was a bit chilly, so everyone (including the bridesmaids and bride herself) were freezing during the ceremony.  It was okay though, they maintained their composure and looked beautiful despite the temperatures of around 55 - 60!

The "altar" where the ceremony took place - the vase is for a sand ceremony.  One container of sand was from Lucy's lake house in MN, the other is sand from Ryan's lake house in MI.

The ceremony was held on a point overlooking the lake, it was so pretty!

The bridal party, waiting for their cue to head down the aisle.  In front are Justin and Emily, with Cassie (Wes's girlfriend) just behind them.

And finally, Lucy comes down the aisle with her parents

The sand ceremony

First kiss!  It was so cute, she held up her bouquet (not sure if it was intentional or not) and they kissed behind it.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Van Dell!

The new couple rode away from the ceremony in a vintage Ford truck.

Very cool!

The cocktail hour and reception followed the ceremony, also at the resort.  After some great toasts and a yummy dinner, there was dancing (my favorite part!).

Matt is lucky that Gina puts up with his silliness

Or better yet, that she joins in with it!!

During the dancing, somehow it came up that Ryan should play drums with the band.  It was great, he played for three songs in a row.

He did such an awesome job, and it was all totally unplanned!

A picture of the Kinsellas, Van Dells, and spouses (well, those of us who were there):  Tim, Kristin, Gina, Matt, Ryan, Lucy, Wes, Cassie, Emily and Justin

And now, leaving room for Paul and Angela!

And then, of course, we had to be silly

It was a wonderful wedding, we had so much fun!  The kids were very good - they stayed with a babysitter at the townhouse (the officiant's daughter, actually) and had a blast playing all night.

We have one more Minnesota post - hopefully that will be coming soon!
