We arrived on Friday morning, to Minneapolis-St. Paul airport. We were on the same flights as Nana and Poppa, and met Matt and Gina at MSP airport. We rented two cars and headed north to Onamia, MN and Izaty's Resort. All eight of us stayed in a townhouse at Izaty's. It was fantastic, with four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a living room, huge kitchen and dining room. One not so fantastic part was that neither the townhouse nor the resort had a pack-and-play for Leah, despite having told us that they would have one for her. So we had to fashion her a make-shift bed using fold-out cushions in the closet to make her a crib with walls. We forgot to take a picture of it, but it was pretty awesome. And by awesome, I mean that Leah HATED it.
Cam and Leah's favorite part of the townhouse was the toys that they had there - a truck, a ball and a few puzzles. Shortly after we arrived, Lori came over with a huge bag of toys that had been Lucy's when she was a kid. Needless to say, Cameron and Leah were over the moon with tons of fun (and new) toys to play with. On Friday night, we had dinner at the restaurant at Izaty's - the food was really good. Tim and Matt went to a nearby casino on Friday night; the rest of us went to bed early.
On Saturday morning we went to breakfast at the resort and then headed out to check out the area. We went to Kathio State Park, which was amazing. I wish we had more time to spend there!! One of the things that the park featured was several geocaches, so it was one of our goals while we were there to find a cache or two.
We found the first geocache hidden deep in a fallen tree. Cam found it but couldn't get his little arm into the hole far enough, so Uncle Matt did the honors and pulled the cache out.
As soon as Uncle Matt pulled the container out, Cameron grabbed it from him and opened it.
Checking out what was inside. Cam was very disappointed that there were no toys inside, just a log to write our names on.

Cam wanted a ride to so he got on Mama's shoulders
Uncle Matt took over because Mama wasn't fast enough
The parking lot was near a boat launch so we checked out the water. It was very pretty and it would have been nice to go for a canoe or kayak.
The real reason we went to check out the water was because Cameron's hands were filthy and needed to be washed. I was very worried that he was going to end up in the lake!

The woods near the lake were very pretty
I really like this shot that Tim took!
Uncle Matt kept Leah amused and happy by picking up leaves

One of the very cool things in Kathio State Park was a fire tower that you could climb. It was a long way to to the top. It was really awesome.
Cameron asked if he could go to the top all by himself. He did a great job climbing a ton of steps.
Gina and Leah stayed at the bottom - if you look very closely in the clearing, you can see a tiny pink spot that is Leah in her pink coat.
The view from the top was great. Cameron LOVED being taller than the trees.
Mama and Leah on top of the tower. Cam was very proud of himself for climbing all the way on his own.
Nana, who is afraid of heights, was also very proud of herself for climbing all the way on her own. Her white knuckle grip on the bars was the only indication that she was a little nervous.

A more zoomed in shot of Leah and Gina waaaaaay at the bottom of the tower.
Another view of the tower. It was pretty darn tall.
Nearby the tower was another geocache. Cameron found this one too (with a bit of help to point him in the right direction). This one was hidden under a pile of sticks.
Cameron was very excited to check out this cache because it was a bigger size, so he was dreaming of all kinds of great toys inside. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way and there was nothing worth trading for in the cache.
Leah loves acorns, so she was very excited to find some near the cache. She likes to take their hats off and put them back on.
Riding back to the car with Daddy
After the park, we went back to the resort to get ready for the wedding. Pictures from the wedding soon!
