Irondequoit Oktoberfest

In mid-September, we made our annual visit to the Irondequoit Oktoberfest.  It was lots of fun, as always, and both Cameron and Leah had German outfits to wear so that was extra cute.  We were a big entourage this year: the four of us, the Langes (Jeff, Jaime, Bridgette and Abby), Omi and Opa, Nana and Poppa, Amanda, Aunt Susi and Ed.  We commandeered a table on the side of the room and put all of our stuff down.  After that it was time for dancing, the kids tent, and yummy German food.  And of course, enjoying the great music!

Miss Leah sitting on Omi's steps, waiting to get in the car.  She was so darn cute in her little dirndl.  Omi made the shirt for her and the dirndl was one that Nana wore when she was little!

And my handsome German boy, Cameron.  His lederhosen are from Germany, a gift from Barbara and Friedbert when Cameron was born.

Omi and Leah.  I put Leah's hair in little antennae pigtails... not exactly an authentic German girl hairstyle but cute nonetheless!

Cam, Abby and Mama dancing.  I love Cameron's fancy moves in this picture!

Finally I extracted myself from the dancing circle so that Abby and Cameron could dance together.  They were ridiculously adorable together.

We tried very hard to get a nice picture of Cam and Leah.  None were great, Leah did not want to hold hands nor did she want her picture taken.  Cam was all smiles and adorable though.

My gorgeous girl

In the kid's area there was a bounce house with a slide.  Cameron loved it and Leah wanted so badly to go in it.  There were too many big kids so she couldn't, but she REALLY wanted to.

I could post about a million pictures, she is just so darn cute!

They also made balloon animals in the kid area, much to Leah's happiness

Cameron waiting patiently for his balloon animal.  He ended up picking a dolphin and Leah picked a ladybug bracelet.

When we got back to the main tent the band was getting ready to play the giant alpine horns.  They had everyone sit down on the dance floor so that the people in the back could see.  Cameron was very serious as he watched the horn players.

Once the horn players were done, it was back to dancing.  Cam really like dancing with Mama.

Being silly

Bridgette - I loved how Jaime did her hair and I can't wait until Leah has long enough hair to do fun stuff like that!

Not the best picture of Leah, chewing on a beer cup, but I love how her pigtails look in this picture!

As the night wore on, Bridgette (the oldest of the four kids) got very sleepy and ended up falling asleep on a couple chairs.  It was so cute and we were amazed at what a sound sleeper she was, sleeping through the music and loud talking.

By the end of the night, Cameron (the second oldest kid) was also passed out asleep.  The two youngins, Abby and Leah, were still going strong at 9:30 when we left.  It was pretty funny to be carrying Cameron and Bridgette out asleep on our shoulders, while the little girls pranced out wide awake.

It was another fun year at the Oktoberfest!
