Cam Cutes: Misc Stories

Last week at swimming class, one of the games that they played used various “light” commands to have the kids do different things. If the teacher said “Green Light” and they had to hold onto the side and kick their legs, when she said “Blue Light” that meant blow bubbles, and “Purple Light” meant get your face or hair wet. Cameron was fine with the explanation when she told them what Green Light meant, but immediately spoke up when she started talking about Blue Light. He piped up, “Silly, there are no blue lights on a traffic light!” The teacher told him this was just pretend, to which he replied, “You’re silly!” But he accepted the explanation and went on with the game!

I keep meaning to write these down, for the Cam-tionary (see original Camtionary post here).
Buttyear – what Cameron calls Buzz Lightyear. The first time he said it, Tim and I nearly fell off the couch laughing.
Bee Ferder – what Cameron calls a bird feeder.
My hockey – what Cameron calls a hockey stick. No matter how many times we tell him it is a “hockey STICK”, he still calls it just a “hockey”.
Game phone – Cameron’s name for Tim’s iPod Touch. It isn’t a phone, but it does have games on it, and apparently Cam thinks it looks like a phone.

Last night we were out to dinner and it was taking quite a while. They had a large group come in right before us and that caused the kitchen to be quite backed up. Our drinks, bread and salad came out quickly but then it was a very long wait for the food. At one point the waitress came over to see how we were doing and to apologize for the delay and before she could say anything, Cameron said “Excuse me, you forgot to bring me my dinner.” Needless to say I was a bit embarrassed, but the waitress thought it was cute.

This morning, Tim was half-sleeping and heard a bunch of banging. I leave first thing in the morning before anyone else is up, so Tim didn’t know what it was and got up to see what was going on. He found Cameron walking out of the guest bedroom with his potty seat, steps (to get onto the potty), two blankets, his Pooh bear, and his sippy. Cam was barely able to hold it all, and was banging into walls and doors trying to drag all of his stuff into our room!
