Labor Day at the Cottage - Part 1

We spent Labor Day weekend at the cottage.  It was great - beautiful weather for swimming and playing outside.  We stayed at the new cottage with Nana and Poppa.  At the old cottage were Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Chris, Aunt Jen and family.

Hooray for warm weather - time to swim!

The sand pile seems REALLY high when you are two....

Going on a frog hunt

After not finding any along the shore, Cam decides to give it a try off the dock.

It was such a beautiful day!

More beautiful scenery

Cameron loved taking the kayak out.   He was going frog hunting but didn't get far because paddling in the lily pads is pretty tricky.

He does such a good job in the kayak, we are so proud of him!

Kayaking with Poppa

I spent a good part of the morning trying to catch a fish in a net while I was standing in the water.  It was pretty tricky because any movement at all scattered the fish, but I finally got my prize.  I was so proud of myself!

Leah liked the fish - she wouldn't hold it but liked petting it.

Tim took some artsy shots of a frog before he alerted Cam to the frog's presence.  Then Cam caught the frog.

I saved my fish for Cameron to see when he got back from kayaking.  He liked holding it and tried for a few minutes to catch his own.  Once he realized that it would take patience, he was done with that.

Checking out the little turtle that they caught

Cam was very happy when Patrick and Joe arrived to play with - he was excited to show off the frogs and turtles that he had caught

We celebrated Tim's birthday with a yummy ice cream cake

After the birthday party, Leah took a nap in preparation for the afternoon's big event - a Water War!  Pictures of that and more cottage fun later.
