Get Ready for Europe!

Are you ready for a recap of my Europe trip? I took tons of pictures in Europe - 792 to be exact. Plus, my friends Bonnie and Elizabeth also took a ton of pictures. I was going to make a post for each country, but quickly realized that they would be a mile long for each. So instead, we will go day by day! Good thing I wrote a (very detailed) journal, so I should be able to use that to narrate, along with lots and lots of pictures.

Planning for our trip started quite a while ago. Marissa moved to Germany two years ago, and we always wanted to go visit her. Bonnie's husband Vinnie suggested that we (the girls) go visit Marissa, and once Tim was on board with me going (and not him or the kids!), we started our planning. In the end, three of us were able to go on the trip. Erin really wanted to go but it just didn't work out for her - she was there in spirit, of course!!

We started our planning and quickly realized that coordinating the schedules of four very busy people was going to be HARD. In the end, the 10 days that we planned were pretty much the only ten days in all of 2011 that worked for all four of us! For our itinerary, the first thing on the list was Wiesbaden, the town in Germany that Marissa lives in. Other than that, we just wanted to add a few other places in Europe on to the trip. Bonnie and Elizabeth both really wanted to go to Paris, so that became the first stop on our trip. Since we all like chocolate, we decided to go to Belgium as well, and decided on Bruges as our destination. Our final itinerary was:
Friday, May 12 - Monday, May 16: Paris, France
Tuesday, May 17 - Wednesday, May 18: Bruges, Belgium
Thursday, May 19: Cologne, Germany then Wiesbaden, Germany
Friday, May 20: Aura, Germany and Wiesbaden
Saturday, May 21 - Monday, May 23: Wiesbaden, Germany

Tomorrow, Day 1 in Paris. Enjoy!
