Leah: Five Months Old!

It is so hard to believe that it has been five months already. Leah is growing up so quickly and learning so many new things every day. She has done so much over the last month! We did some unofficial measurements tonight and she is:
Weight - 15.6 lbs
Length - 25 inches
Head - 43 cm

During this month, Leah has become a lot more active. She is really getting interested in playing with toys and is starting to move around. She rolled over for the first time this month. First, from stomach to back, and then two days later, from back to stomach. Now she just rolls over and over and over! Sometimes she uses rolling to get to the toy she wants, which is super cute. Another tactic to get things is she does a modified version of the Curly Shuffle - she can go around in a circle either on her stomach or on her back. She has also starting a very early version of creeping. She pushes herself along with her toys or by putting her bum in the air and scooting forward. She can really get places, but it takes a while. Very cute though!! Leah also started using the jumperoo this past month, but we don't have any pictures of it yet - tons of video footage, but no photos.

Leah is still our sweet little monkey. She is very good-natured and thinks the sun rises and sets on her big brother. She always has her eyes on Cam and is usually trying to join in on what he is doing. He can make her laugh better than anyone else, and the moment he walks into her line of sight, she just lights right up. Luckily, he loves her too and revels in the attention! He loves to read to her, and she loves to help him hold the book and listen to the story. Seeing the two of them together is absolutely adorable!

Watching Cameron dance and laughing at him!

Playing on the rocking boat with Cam

Leah is doing great at daycare. She has lots of good days and is taking her bottles without any problems. She is into a pretty good routine, taking a nap in the morning and another in the afternoon. She plays on the floor when the "big" kids are napping and has some little friends who were born within a couple weeks of her. She has started eating a couple of different kinds of cereal - the rice from last month, and now oatmeal. She isn't great at eating them but is getting better. She is definitely starting to teethe because she always has her fingers in her mouth... along with anything that comes within a few inches of it!

This month, Leah also attended her second wedding (Auntie Cathy and Uncle Ron's)

Went to her first Oktoberfest and had lots of fun looking at all the stuff, dancing and enjoying the music (and even sleeping through some of it)

Went on her first ride on a swing

She has also had a couple colds this month and has spent a lot of time really stuffed up. She HATES the booger sucker and tissues in general. So because of this, half the time she has her mouth hanging open trying to breathe. We took this hilarious picture the other day... someone wants pie!

She'll be stealing Cam's toys soon, then we'll see how much he likes her!
