Weekend in Swansea

Two weekends ago, we spent the weekend in Swansea. We were actually already in Massachusetts, because I was there on a business trip and Tim and Cam came along. We spent all day Friday at Kim's house, and Cathy came up to hang out as well. On Saturday we were at Tim's parents all day, and then on Sunday we celebrated Ella's 7th birthday.

Cam LOVED spending time with everyone. Of course, he couldn't get enough of Jack and Ella and wanted to play with them all day long. He also loved the kitties (at Kim's) and Brinkley the golden retriever at Mimi and Grandpa's house.

Kim and Jeff are having an addition put on their house, so there was a backhoe in their driveway. Jack and Cam were soooo excited!

Cam had a ton of fun playing all day long with Jack and Ella, but didn't want to take a nap all day. By the time we got to Mimi and Grandpa's house, Cameron was practically twitching with exhaustion. He had a breakdown during dinner, rubbing food all over his head and in his hair. Shortly after this picture was taken, Cam took a bath and went to bed. Poor sweetie!
On Saturday we went over to Auntie Cathy's new house. The windows upstairs are just the perfect height for Cameron to peek out of and climb up on.
On Sunday we were in Millis to celebrate Ella's birthday. The party theme was soccer and Cameron was quite enthralled with his soccer ball necklace.

There is nothing Cameron loves like playing outside. I really think he would sleep, eat and spend every single second out there if we let him. These pictures are a few weeks old, but they were cute so I wanted to post them.

Cam Cute Follow-up

Remember when I wrote about how Cameron was asking me to "tin" (sing)? Ever since the first time, singing has been a regular occurrence in our night time routine. We go upstairs and get into PJs, then get into the rocking chair and read two books. The lights go out, and Cam makes his big decision - "Tin" or "No". If he doesn't want me to sing, he says "No" and puts his hand over my mouth. If he does want me to sing, he points to my mouth and commands "Tin". Often times, my choices of songs is not to his liking so I get a "Nonononono" and a hand over the mouth.

I have come to realize that, on nights when he isn't ready for sleep yet, he doesn't like the sleepy songs like "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "Rock-a-bye Baby". On those nights, he much prefers me to sing the alphabet or something a bit more upbeat. Lately, he has even joined in on singing the alphabet with me, which mainly consists of "Beeee, Beee, Beee, Eeeee" - a good start to learning it. On other nights, when he is sleepy and ready to snuggle in for the night, he is much more in the mood for Twinkle Twinkle or something similarly slow.

Remember the Gross Cam story? Here are two pictures of Cameron that night, when he was so sick but so sweet. He spent the whole night cuddled up on my lap.

And then, the next morning, Cam was all smiles and feeling great!!

Cam at 18 months

Cameron had his 18 month checkup on Wednesday this past week. Everything is great, although Cameron spent the entire checkup giving the doctor the stink eye. He was seriously suspicious of everything the doctor was doing. Cam also got a shot, which he took like a man. He stared at the nurse, gave her the stink eye, and then came looking for a hug. On the way to the hug he noticed his bright orange bandaid and was immediately smitten. He smiled up at the nurse who he was just glaring at, and gave her a big "Tank Ou". Here are his stats from the appointment:

Height - 32 3/4 inches - 70th percentile
Weight - 24.1 pounds - 20th percentile
Head - 47 cm - 70th percentile

So my boy is still a tall, skinny, big-headed cutie!

Cam's Second Easter

Since Tim was gone during Easter, we waited until he came back to have Easter at our house. On his second Easter, Cameron got to open two packages (one from Auntie Kim and one from Mimi/Grandpa), look for his Easter basket, and go on an egg hunt in the yard. We have some pictures from the package opening and the egg hunt, but Cam looking for his basket is on video so I don't have that to post right now.
