New House: Lots is done!
Well it has been a while since I have posted house pictures and A LOT has been completed since then. The second floor is up and walls have been framed upstairs as well. Today the roof trusses were put up, but we don't have pictures of it yet. Here are pictures from the last few days.

Upstairs, from the front right corner of the house, in the master bedroom. Looking towards back bedrooms.
Standing in back left corner bedrooms. Looking towards master suite area in the far side of the picture.
Papa and Cam standing in the fireplace. Also, this is where Cam keeps his stash of nails that he collects every time we go to the site. He has hundreds in the stash!
Back of the house.
Upstairs, now with walls. This is standing at the top of the stairs, looking toward master bedroom and laundry room.
Standing in the doorway of the laundry room. There will be a closet in the laundry (on the left side of the picture) and then the laundry sink, washer and dryer.

Taken from the back left bedroom, which will be Cameron's.
In the foreground of the picture is the Jack-n-Jill bath, which is shared between the two bedrooms. In the background is the front left bedroom.
Cam, standing in an odd little area that may eventually become a small built-in bookshelf. Cam loves wandering around the house and is really interested in how it is being built. Well, as interested as a one and a half year old can be. :-P

New House: First floor framing
Lots more has been done on the house in the last few days. The framing crew even worked this past weekend, to make up for rainy days we had last week. The house is looking great, we are starting to be able to see where rooms will be and walk around in the house. Very cool!!

Cottage with Jeff and Jaime
A few weeks ago we spent a weekend up at the cottage with Jeff, Jaime, Bridgette and Abby. We all had a great time; the kids played well together and the adults had fun too. The weather was amazing - warm and sunny pretty much the whole time. We spent a lot of our time outside, either playing in the yard or swimming in the lake. We went in the canoe and kayak quite often too, but mainly just for short paddles around the bay. We went into DQ one night, of course, and everyone enjoyed that. It was a really fun weekend.

Cameron, trying his hardest to lift the canoe. He actually tried for a couple minutes on his own and then called Tim over to help.
Maybe sand kayaking is better?
This shot took 20 tries to get all three kids looking at the camera.
Cam hugging Abby... the next two shots in the series are of Cam hugging Abby right off the bench and of Jaime catching them as they fall.
Bridgette headed out for a walk, with her trusty walking stick of course
Abby and Cameron hold court on the mini Adirondack chairs
Cameron, holding his very first turtle. He helped me catch it and then helped to flip it over every time it went onto its back. He was very concerned about it and was happy to hold it.
Bridgette fixed all of the chairs.
Sweet Abby
Cameron and Mama are fishing! We eventually caught a few fish, and Cam held one of them, but unfortunately we didn't get a picture of that.
Bridgette and Cam fishing. In my mind, "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" is playing in the background while they fish.
Cam dumping water on himself. Every once in a while it would pour into his diaper and he would stop, cry and say "Cold!". Then he would do it all over again.
Splash!
Bridgette and Jaime rowing around the bay
Cameron loved jumping off the dock. Notice the totally murky water - it is not like that normally, but we had just finished raking all the muck out of the swim area so the sand was very stirred up.
Cameron commenting on something going on in the water. He LOVES the cottage!!

New House: We have a floor!
We went up to the house last night and they had done quite a bit during the day. The OSB floor for the first level was down, making both the basement enclosed and the layout a lot easier to see. They also started laying out the frame for the garage walls.
Most of the basement. On the left side of the photo are the stairs from the garage, and the light on the top right will be the stairs from the first floor.
Standing against the dining/living room side of the house, looking at the garage side.
Back corner, below the dining room and kitchen. Future guest bedroom, or perhaps bar area?
Standing in the garage, looking over the whole house. Cam is walking up stairs where the mudroom entrance will be.
Daddy, can I help you measure?
Looking towards the living room and front porch. The hole is where the stairs will be.

Going for a walk in the backyard.
We let Cam wander where ever he wanted to go. He had no fear of going away from us, as long as we were close enough to catch a glimpse of now and then.
Close-up on the little hiker.
My tree!!
Lots of these pretty flowers dot the yard. There are also raspberry and blackberry bushes - yum!
