Trip to Swansea and Fun on the Playground

When we were done at the Submarine Museum, we started driving towards Tim's parent's house.  We found out that Connecticut has a wine trail, so we stopped at a winery.  It was a beautiful place - spread out on 100 acres, the winery itself overlooked vineyards and the ocean.  The winery building was an old airplane hanger, which was super neat.  Outside of the winery, there was a huge osprey nest box.  We saw the Mama and Daddy osprey sitting in their nest.  Very cool!

We learned (again!) that we are spoiled in the Finger Lakes.  Here we pay a couple dollars to do a wine tasting, and bottles of wine start at $8, with an average of around $12-16.  At this winery in CT, a tasting for one person was $10, and the cheapest bottle of wine was $19, going up to over $30.  The wine was very good (Tim and I shared a tasting) and the bartender was really good to the kiddos, making them paper airplanes out of the tasting menu and giving them their own cracker bowl.  We felt like we had to buy a bottle of wine!  So we left a little bit poorer and decided that we had enough of the CT Wine Trail.  :-P

We drove to Tim's parent's house, three of us sleeping the whole way.  When we got there, we decided to go for a walk to stretch our legs and get some fresh air.  Here are a couple of pictures from the playground near Tim's parent's house.

Cameron on the swings.  This in itself is kind of amazing because he never has liked swings very much.  He was excited to show us that his teachers at school taught him how to pump his legs, so he could make himself go high.  Pretty cool.

Leah went in the baby swing about a million times.  She kept asking to go higher and go faster.

We do not have a picture of Leah sliding on the slide, because every time she went down, she went face first and we had to run to catch her.  No matter how many times we told her "Feet First" she just wouldn't listen and would go diving down head first.  Our little adventurer.... !!
