Leah: Three Months Old!

On Sunday, Leah turned three months old. We can't believe how fast time has gone!! The three month mark also means that Mama had to go back to work, which is why the three month post is a few days late!

This month, Leah has become more aware, more curious, and even sweeter (if that is possible!). She is still such a good girl, content to sit and check out the world. She doesn't sleep through the night yet, but is mainly only waking up once around 3:30 or 4am to eat and go right back to sleep. She is a snuggly little girl who likes to cuddle up and sit on your lap, or peek over your shoulder and look at the world.

We did our own measurements to see where Leah was at:
Weight - 13 pounds
Length - 24 inches
Head - 40 centimeters

This past month, Leah went on her first family vacation (to Puerto Rico, of course) and she went swimming for the first time (as well as went in the ocean for the first time). Leah LOVED swimming, and was in for quite a long time in both the pool and the ocean. She liked to just float, kick her legs and look around.

Leah has been getting better and better at using her hands. She has been able to get them into her mouth since about six weeks old, but now she can get them together and into her mouth! She has also been able to consciously reach up and grab toys when she is on her playmat, as well as (unintentionally) grabbing and holding on to toys that we put near her hands. Here is a picture of Leah with her BFF Emily, playing on the playmat.

Her smiles just keep getting better and she is so close to laughing. She makes a noise that might be a laugh, or just a happy coo... but whatever it is, it is adorable. One of the things that makes her smile the most is looking at that other baby in the mirror. She just thinks that baby is the cutest baby in the world!

Leah is so curious - she always has wide eyes and is checking out the world. Her favorite way to be held is up high on your shoulder so that she can see everything. As long as she can look around, she is a happy girl!

She looks so grown up in the picture of her sitting in the rocking chair.
