Two months old!

I can hardly believe that Leah is two months old today! I am sitting here, ready to write about my angelic little baby... and she is literally screaming her head off! Normally, she is the sweetest and most relaxed baby ever, but tonight for some reason she is really off and upset. Poor little one! Overall though, she is still just as laid back as she has been. I thought for sure that writing about it last month would jinx everything and make her fussy, but luckily it did not. She is such a good baby - she rarely cries unless she is hungry, tired or bored.

She is such a curious baby - always looking around and trying to figure out what is going on. She will stare up at her mobile or "play" happily on her play mat for 30-45 minutes, which seems like WAY longer of an attention span than Cameron ever had at this age. She seems to really like blankets or burp cloths, and whenever they are draped over her she grabs right on. She does that when you have a burp cloth on your shoulder too, which makes it difficult when you are trying to burp her and not get spit up on your clothes! Leah loves looking at Cameron and watching what he is doing. If she is crying, he can always get her to quiet down by talking to her or singing to her. This is especially helpful in the car!

One of the most exciting milestones from this past month is Leah started smiling! When she was about six weeks old, she gave us her first big grin. What a wonderful milestone, we just love to see her smile and coo. I have been trying to capture it on camera, but it is difficult to do by myself. The two pictures below are with me making her laugh, and Tim taking pictures. Even those don't really show what a cute smile it is!

Leah is still loving her baths, she is such a water baby. She doesn't mind water pouring all over her head and face. She is content to sit in the tub and look around at the world. This past week she has even started splashing a little (although it is probably more accidental arm flailing than actual splashing!!).
Leah had her two month check-up on Tuesday. She did really well. She was wide awake the whole time, looking at the doctor and around the office. She even grabbed the cord on his computer stylus. The doctor asked us to sit her up so that he could look at her back, but Leah did not want to sit - she stood up on her little legs and held her weight. The doctor was impressed, so of course we were proud! Here are Leah's two month stats:
Weight: 11 pounds, 10 ounces - 75th percentile
Length: 22 inches - 50th percentile
Head: 37.5 cm - 25th percentile
(If you are interested in Cam's stats from his two month appointment, they are here)

Leah also had to get her first set of shots, which was very traumatic for Mama and Daddy. Leah did just fine though - she cried at first but was quickly comforted by Daddy. Then she nursed and everything was right in the world again. Here is Leah with her day-glo orange bandaids.

Leah continues to eat really well. She nurses every two to three hours, but can go longer at night. Usually we put her to bed around 10pm and she sleeps until 2:30 or 3am. She eats, get her diaper changed, and goes right back to sleep. Then she sleeps until around 6am, and we repeat the eat/change/back to sleep. She sleeps again until 8am or so. She is having much longer periods of awake time now, especially in the morning. It is really fun.

We are having so much fun with Leah; she is just such a little sweet pea and the perfect addition to our family.

Leah is certainly growing up! I've noticed too how intently she looks at things, as if she is trying hard to figure them out. She will probably turn out to be very inquisitive, like Cam.

What a cutey she is.
